Contestant Information

The Competition MDE Monsters in the Making Competition Overview

We focus heavily on three key categories that define the spirit of Monster Drag Events:

🖤 Horror: Terrify, shock, or captivate the audience with your dark side.

🖤 Gore: Push boundaries, embrace chaos, and celebrate the gritty and unapologetic.

🖤 Glamour: Balance the monstrous with beauty and sophistication, leaving everyone.
 

Rules and Regulations

  • Contestant Entry fee is due at Registration orientation
  • All Contestants must be 21 years or older before November 2025. There are no gender rules that apply to this contest. You can be Male, Female, transgender, non-binary, androgynous etc. We at MDE  celebrate diversity and inclusion of all.
  • All contestant(s) must be in their appointed place at the appointed time. Failure to do so will result in administrative points being deducted from their final score
  • All Music must be submitted to Music Director 72 hours prior to event, title as such
    ( Contestant Name, Act Number, City Of Competition)
  • Fake Blood is permitted within the Competition. However, guidelines by each venue will vary so please  contact Competition Coordinator for your City’s Guidelines
  • Any contestant(s) Caught in the act of stealing or tampering with another contestant’s belongings will be immediately disqualified from the competition and escorted out of the host venue, and a course of legal action may be taken. In addition, the disqualified contestant will be banned from MDE for up to no less than two (2) years.
  • Only contestants will be allowed within the dressing room at any given time. If a contestant is asked to remove extra people from their area and fail to do so, administrative points will be deducted.
  • All contestant(s) are required to arrive (30) minutes before the official check in time. Official Check In time for registration/orientation is 6:00PM
  • In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will go to the winner of Runway Challenge
  • Once a contestant qualifies to compete at Finals, they must attend. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of win, all cash monies must be returned to MITM, and the contestant will also be banned from competition for up to two (2) years.  Only exceptions will be in the case of emergencies.
  • Monster Drag Events and MITM reserves the rights to make decisions regarding any manners not mentioned within these Rules and Regulations.
  • Contestants must perform all three acts:
    1. Act 1. Creature Feature Runway
    2. Act 2: Song Performance of Choice
    3. Act 3: Roulette Performance (randomly selected song).
  • Contestants may only win once during the series but can register for multiple events.
